Golden Peaks explores the relationship between metalwork, light and landscape through a sculptural arrangement of vertical brass fins set against a painted mural backdrop.

A series of individually cut metal slats rise and fall in height to trace the silhouette of a mountain range, casting soft shadows and catching light differently across their length. Layered against a hand-painted ink-wash mural of misting peaks and flying cranes, the piece brings a striking sense of depth — the sculptural metalwork sitting forward of the painted landscape like a mountain ridge emerging from cloud.

The warm gold finish of the fins offers a bold contrast to the soft blues and whites of the mural behind it, giving the composition a rich, layered, almost calligraphic quality that shifts as the viewer moves past it.

Rather than functioning as a flat decorative panel, the installation acts as a dimensional landscape—using metal relief, light and layered depth over a painted backdrop to turn a wall into a scene with real physical presence.
