Desert to Deep explores the relationship between colour, contour and depth through a large-format, hand-tufted wall rug.

A warm ombré gradient moves from burnt sienna at the top through soft sand tones into cool slate and deep teal below — evoking the shift from a sun-drenched horizon into still, quiet water. Below the gradient, a dense network of hand-carved topographic contour lines ripples across the surface, mapping the terrain like layers cut into stone or the concentric rings of a tidal pool.

Sculptural tufted accents break from the flat plane of the rug, adding raised, textural moments that catch light and cast their own soft shadows — bringing an organic, almost living quality to the piece.

Rather than functioning as a conventional wall covering, the piece acts as a layered topography—using gradient, carved contour and raised texture to bring depth, movement and atmosphere to an entire wall.
