A Universe in Motion

Rotating Galaxy explores the relationship between silhouette, cosmos and continuous motion through a layered wall installation combining laser-cut metal artwork with a kinetic rotating sphere.

A dense silhouette of gnarled tree branches and a hillside treeline is cut from blackened metal, framing a luminous blue "moon" panel that sits at the centre of the composition — its surface hand-painted with swirling nebula and star-field detail. The sphere itself rotates continuously, giving the painted galaxy the illusion of real cosmic movement, drifting slowly behind the static branches like a moon rising through a night forest.

Set against a rich walnut-panelled wall, the contrast between the dark laser-cut silhouette and the glowing rotating orb creates a striking, cinematic focal point — equally suited to a lobby, reception or feature wall.

Rather than functioning as a static art panel, the installation acts as a living night sky—using continuous rotation and layered silhouette to bring quiet, ambient motion to an entire wall.
